AAA Temporary Job Announcement




The American Anthropological Association (AAA) is looking for enthusiastic anthropology students (graduate or advanced undergraduate) to help us with this year’s AnthroGuide! The successful applicant(s) will assist the Director of Communications and Public Affairs and the AnthroGuide Coordinator with telephone sales calls and emails related to the production of the 2016-2017 AnthroGuide, the most comprehensive listing of anthropology programs, faculty, and practitioners in the world. This is a temporary position (6-8 weeks) located at our Arlington, VA office. Applicants must be available to work about 15 hours per week starting early to mid-March.

This position requires an organized and motivated individual, who is comfortable holding phone conversations. A successful candidate will be polite but persistent.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive pay, and a convenient location one block from the metro.

Qualifications include:
Background in Anthropology, communications, sales, or related field.
Familiarity with the AnthroGuide and AAA mission.
Strong communication skills, comfortable with phone conversations.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to navigate organizational webpages to identify key individuals and programs.
Familiarity with non-profits is a plus.
