The AAA offers two summer internships in Washington D.C. for
upper-level undergraduates and first-year graduate students. The internships
involve a split between working in the AAA office and working either at the
Underwater Archaeology Branch (UAB) of the Naval History & Heritage Command
(NHHC) or the National Museum of African Art. Archaeology students are STRONGLY
encouraged to apply for these internships. The program was established four
years ago and thus far they have had no archaeology applicants.
Further information on the internships can be found at: http://www.aaanet.org/profdev/internships/AAA-Summer-Internship-Program.cfm
Applicants do not need to be members of the AAA, but free
membership is offered to them at the completion of the internship.
